Tivit, Seller of Secrets // Tivit, Seller of Secrets

Tivit, Seller of Secrets was released as part of the Streets of New Capenna Art Series in 2022. This set consists of specialized, high-quality cards that showcase the full-frame artwork commissioned for the main set, stripping away the traditional game frames to highlight the aesthetic contributions of the illustrators. These cards were distributed primarily through collector boosters, serving as a collectible souvenir for those who appreciate the visual world-building inherent in Magic: The Gathering.

The artwork for Tivit was crafted by artist Kev Walker, a long-standing contributor to the game known for a distinct, gritty style. For this piece, Walker was tasked with capturing the essence of the Sphinx crime boss who governs the secrets of New Capenna. The design focuses on conveying both intellectual prowess and the cutthroat nature of the city's criminal underworld, utilizing rich, dark tones and sharp lines to reflect the art deco influence of the set. It was received as a definitive portrayal of the character, balancing an imposing silhouette with the intricate, opulent detail associated with the plane's aesthetic.
