Transguild Promenade

Transguild Promenade was originally introduced in the Ravnica: City of Guilds expansion in 2005, designed as a foundational utility land for multicolored decks. It reflects the complex, interconnected nature of the Ravnican cityscape, where diverse factions rely on shared infrastructure to maintain the balance of the plane. The card’s design, featuring a distinct, ornate architectural style, was intended to evoke the grandeur of the plane’s central hubs.

The version included in Commander Legends, numbered 499, serves as a functional reprint that maintains the card’s identity as a staple for multi-color Commander strategies. By providing access to any color of mana at the cost of sacrificing a land upon entry, it offers a high-risk, high-reward tactical choice for players managing varied mana bases. It remains a widely utilized utility card within the Commander format, favored for its versatility in decks that lack access to expensive rare dual lands.
