Provenance

Where it came from

Treasure Mage first appeared in the 2011 set Mirrodin Besieged, designed as a utility creature for Magic: The Gathering. The card was created to provide blue-aligned players with a reliable way to tutor for high-cost artifacts, reflecting the set's central theme of the metallic world of Mirrodin being corrupted by the Phyrexians.

This particular version, numbered 73 in the 2020 Double Masters set, features updated artwork that retains the essence of the original while aligning with the set's aesthetic of celebrating powerful, high-impact cards. Double Masters was curated specifically to provide players with sought-after reprints, and Treasure Mage was included as a functional staple for Commander and other eternal formats.
