Where it came from
Veil of Summer was originally printed in the 2019 Core Set 2020 for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It quickly gained notoriety in competitive formats for its efficiency as a green counter-magic spell that provides protection against blue and black interaction. The design by the Wizards of the Coast development team was intended to offer green decks a defensive tool, though it ultimately proved powerful enough to face restrictions in several high-level constructed formats.
The version from Mystery Booster 2, featuring collector number 75, serves as a reprint within a specialized set designed to celebrate the game's history through a curated, eclectic selection of cards. Mystery Booster 2 utilizes the original illustration by Magali Villeneuve, a renowned artist in the fantasy space. Her work on this piece captures the ethereal, protective essence of the spell, maintaining the distinct visual identity established during the card's initial release.
