Vivid Crag

Vivid Crag was originally printed as part of the Vivid cycle in Lorwyn in 2007, designed as a utility land to help players navigate the color requirements of multi-color decks in the Limited and Constructed environments. The card provides a mechanism for adding mana of any color by using charge counters, a design choice intended to offer flexibility at the cost of long-term sustainability. The Commander 2013 printing, featuring the collector number 333, repurposed this design to support the multi-color nature of the preconstructed Commander decks, ensuring players had accessible mana-fixing options for the social, multiplayer format.

The artwork for the Vivid cycle, including the Crag, was produced by various artists to evoke the fantastical, shifting landscapes of the plane of Lorwyn. The aesthetic focuses on vibrant, ethereal energy, reflecting the card's ability to tap into different mana sources. Within the Commander 2013 collection, these lands were received as functional staples, valued by the community for their reliability in budget-conscious deck building rather than for their competitive rarity or complex mechanical execution.
