Provenance

Where it came from

The Judge Gift Card program was an initiative by Wizards of the Coast to reward Magic: The Gathering judges for their contributions to the community. These promotional cards, often featuring unique or classic artwork, were distributed exclusively to certified judges. The Wheel of Fortune print released in 2010 was particularly notable for its shift to the 'Judge' foil treatment and its high utility within the game's competitive formats, such as Legacy and Vintage.

The artwork for this specific printing was provided by Terese Nielsen, a prominent illustrator in the Magic: The Gathering catalog known for her distinct, evocative style. Nielsen’s design for the 2010 release utilized the updated card frame of the era while maintaining the iconic, chaotic energy associated with the spell's effect. Upon its release, the card was received with enthusiasm by collectors and players alike, solidifying its status as a premium staple in the secondary market.
