Where it came from
Wisdom of Ages was released as part of the Secrets of Strixhaven promotional set for the Magic: The Gathering expansion Strixhaven: School of Mages. The card was designed to reflect the academic and archival themes of the Strixhaven university setting, specifically emphasizing the value of historical knowledge and spellcraft within the lore of the game.
The visual design features art by Randy Vargas, who utilized a distinct, painterly style to capture the mystical essence of an ancient library. The piece was well-received by players for its atmospheric depiction of the multiverse's vast magical history, serving as a staple of the promotional release cycle that celebrated the set's unique collegiate aesthetic.
