Jahrbuch der Goethe-Gesellschaft. 7. Bd

The Jahrbuch der Goethe-Gesellschaft series serves as a foundational scholarly record produced by the Goethe-Gesellschaft in Weimar, Germany. Established in the late 19th century to foster the study of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the society began publishing these yearbooks to archive critical essays, archival findings, and the organization's internal reports. The seventh volume, published in 1920, emerged during a transitional period for German humanities, reflecting the institution's commitment to maintaining cultural continuity during the aftermath of the First World War.

The design and editorial direction of these volumes were shaped by the intellectual elite of the Weimar-based society, who prioritized rigorous philological accuracy and historical preservation. By focusing on the dissemination of Goethean scholarship, the publication acted as a bridge between the classicist traditions of the 19th century and the emerging academic trends of the early 20th century. The series was well-received within academic circles as an essential resource for researchers and enthusiasts of German literature, establishing the society as the primary authority on Goethe's life and works.
