Orlando furioso di Messer Ludovico Ariosto, con la giouta novamente stampato e corretto. [...].

Orlando Furioso, first published in its complete form in 1532, stands as one of the most significant works of Italian Renaissance literature. This particular edition reflects the mid-16th-century practice of refining and reprinting Ludovico Ariosto's epic chivalric poem to meet the intellectual demands of a growing reading public. By this period, Ariosto's masterpiece had become a cultural touchstone, prompting printers to release corrected versions that often included additional commentary and woodcut illustrations to enhance the reader's experience of the complex narrative.

The design of these mid-century editions was typically characterized by the use of clear, readable typefaces and illustrative techniques meant to capture the poem's blend of irony, fantasy, and courtly romance. Such volumes were produced not only for academic study but as prestigious additions to the libraries of the European elite. The meticulous attention paid to the text's correction indicates the high esteem in which Ariosto was held by the printing houses of the era, who viewed the work as a definitive pillar of vernacular literature.
