Where it came from
The Crocodile card, identified as OP14-120, originates from the 'The Azure Sea's Seven' expansion set. This series was designed to explore nautical themes and antagonists within its overarching card game universe, drawing inspiration from high-seas adventure tropes. It was produced to provide players with a high-impact character card that emphasizes strength and intimidation, reflecting the creature's status as a formidable obstacle in its source narrative.
The design of this card focuses on a stark, aggressive visual aesthetic, utilizing deep aquatic color palettes contrasted with the textured, armored scales of the subject. The illustrator sought to emphasize the creature's menacing presence through sharp angles and a sense of imminent movement. Upon its release, the card was received well by the competitive community for its utility in defensive strategies and its striking visual design, which solidified its place as a standout piece within the set.
