Hydra

The Hydra event card was released in 2023 as part of the Paramount War expansion, the second major set for the One Piece Card Game. This set was designed to capture the intensity of the Marineford arc from the original manga and anime, focusing on the tactical battle between the Whitebeard Pirates and the Navy. The card serves as a thematic representation of the venomous power wielded by the character Magellan, a central antagonist of the Impel Down sequence who also appears in the broader context of the Paramount War storyline.

The card features artwork consistent with the game's aesthetic, utilizing character stills to maintain narrative fidelity to the source material. It functions as a counter-event, reflecting the oppressive and restrictive nature of Magellan's poison abilities within the game mechanics. As part of the green color archetype, the card was received as a versatile tool for defensive play, valued by competitive players for its ability to remove threats from the board while maintaining board state stability.
