Provenance

Where it came from

Released in the Paramount War expansion set of the One Piece Card Game in 2022, Tsuru represents a key figure from the Marine headquarters. The card draws its inspiration from the Summit War of Marineford, a pivotal narrative arc in the original manga and anime series where the character, a legendary Vice Admiral, plays a strategic role in the Navy's defensive efforts against the Whitebeard Pirates.

The character design captures Tsuru's seasoned and composed demeanor, utilizing the signature aesthetic of the Trading Card Game that emphasizes high-contrast action frames. As a character card within the [OP02] set, it was designed to function as a support unit in Navy-themed decks, appreciated by players for its ability to manipulate the power levels of opposing characters, thereby reflecting the strategic brilliance often attributed to her in the source material.
