What it does
If you have Cresselia in play, each of Darkrai's attack does 20 more damage to the Defending Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).
Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Asleep.
To protect itself, it afflicts those around it with nightmares. However, it means no harm.

Where it came from
The Darkrai DP52 promotional card was released in 2008 as part of the Diamond and Pearl Black Star Promos series. This specific card was distributed as a tie-in for the tenth feature-length Pokémon film, 'The Rise of Darkrai,' which premiered in Japan in 2007 and was subsequently released to Western audiences. It served as a collectible incentive for fans of the franchise to engage with the theatrical and home video release of the film.
The illustration features the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai in a dramatic, shadow-heavy pose consistent with its lore as the pitch-black Pokémon. Like many cards in the Black Star Promos set, it utilized artwork previously featured in Japanese promotional releases, maintaining the distinct high-contrast aesthetic characteristic of the era's Darkness-type cards. The card was well-received by players and collectors of the time for its inclusion in the competitive meta and its status as a highly accessible promotional variant of a popular Legendary Pokémon.
