Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 1986, this collection serves as a pedagogical and cultural project aimed at documenting Brazilian musical evolution through the piano. Compiled by Carlos Cruz and Manolo Cabral Perpétuo, the project functions as both a teaching aid and an archival effort to preserve progressive piano arrangements that bridge classical technique with Brazilian melodic sensibilities.

The design of this collection emphasizes accessibility and historical continuity, reflecting the collaborators' intent to provide students and enthusiasts with a structured journey through national compositions. Lacking a major label release, the work occupies a niche space in Brazilian music education, often valued by scholars and dedicated pianists for its focus on regional musical identity rather than purely commercial viability.
