Ich Bin Da / Ich Kann Barfuss Durch Dornen Gehen

Released in 1974 on the state-owned East German label AMIGA, this single represents the work of the Horst Krüger-Band, a group central to the development of Schlager and pop-rock in the German Democratic Republic. The record emerged during a period where East German musicians were balancing state-sanctioned production standards with an increasing desire to incorporate western-influenced pop arrangements into their repertoire.

The tracks highlight the melodic, ensemble-driven style that characterized Krüger's output during his tenure with the band. As a product of the AMIGA label, the release was part of the systematic effort to provide domestic entertainment for the East German population. The design is typical of the era's minimalist label aesthetic, focusing on the functionality of state distribution rather than elaborate cover art, and reflects the institutionalized approach to music production within the GDR.
