Where it came from
Released under the Chor Music label, this recording showcases the unique sonic capabilities of the 67er Wrede Konzertorgel. The Wrede organ, a staple of historical mechanical music, was frequently utilized in Bavarian regional settings to provide entertainment in public spaces and festive venues. This specific album serves as a preservation of the traditional 'Orgelgrüsse' or organ greetings that were characteristic of mid-20th-century German mechanical music performances.
The production captures the intricate mechanical interplay of the organ, focusing on its ability to emulate the sound of a full ensemble through complex pneumatic systems. While the identity of the primary engineer or arranger for this specific catalog number is not widely documented in mainstream discographies, the record reflects the broader archival efforts of the era to document the mechanical organs of the Frankenland region, which were valued for their cultural contribution to regional heritage and local identity.
