Noel Polonais / Pater Noster / Pod Tviou Mylost / Bone Pastor

The Noel Polonais record, released under the catalog number PCM 64, serves as a document of the liturgical and choral tradition maintained by the Petits Chanteurs de la Maîtrise du Saint-Esprit. Produced as a private or limited-run pressing, this record captured a specific repertoire of Christmas hymns and religious chants intended for an audience interested in ecclesiastical music and regional choral performance. Its existence reflects the mid-century tradition of small-scale, institutionally produced recordings designed to preserve the specific acoustic profile and vocal standards of church-affiliated youth choirs.

The recording highlights the ensemble's dedication to choral precision and the thematic gravity of their sacred repertoire. By performing pieces such as Pater Noster and the Polish-themed Noel Polonais, the group sought to bridge traditional religious expression with the refined vocal training common to these maitrises. The production is characterized by an unadorned, documentation-style approach typical of independent labels or self-released records from that period, prioritizing the clarity of the voices over commercial polish, which resulted in a specialized item primarily found in the archives of collectors interested in mid-century French choral music.
