Poésies

Released under the independent label Le Kiosque d'Orphée, Poésies by Régis Morel represents a niche example of French private press production. Le Kiosque d'Orphée was a specialized service based in Paris that allowed artists to self-publish their work on vinyl, providing a platform for poets, musicians, and performers who operated outside the traditional commercial music industry. This record reflects the label's ethos of preserving idiosyncratic creative expression, often distributed in very small runs to friends, family, or localized artistic circles.

The design and production of such releases were typically handled with minimalist resources, focusing on the raw output of the artist rather than mass-market appeal. As an artifact of late twentieth-century French spoken word or experimental song, Morel's work captures a specific moment of personal artistic documentation. Because these items were intended for a limited audience rather than retail circulation, they are rarely found with extensive documentation regarding their original reception, standing instead as private testaments to the artist's poetic vision.
