Prendo La Valigia E Vado Via / Ma Cosa Volevi

Released in 1976 on the Cinevox label, this 7-inch single captures a moment of crossover stardom for Liana Orfei, a prominent member of the historic Italian circus family who transitioned into a successful career as an actress and vocalist. The record features the A-side 'Prendo La Valigia E Vado Via,' a track that mirrors the theatrical flair and dramatic sensibilities commonly found in the Italian pop and soundtrack-adjacent music scene of the mid-1970s.

Cinevox, the label behind this release, was primarily renowned for its deep connection to the Italian film industry, often producing music that bridged the gap between cinematic scores and popular radio play. The design and production of this release reflect the vibrant, somewhat experimental aesthetic of the period, where performers like Orfei utilized their public personas to experiment with the era's sophisticated pop arrangements and lush orchestration.
