Where it came from
Released in 1975 by CBS, this single represents a snapshot of the Brazilian pop landscape during the mid-1970s. L'amartine, a project involving musicians associated with the Jovem Guarda movement and broader Brazilian pop-rock scene, utilized the CBS label's significant distribution reach to capture the melodic, sentiment-heavy aesthetic common to the era's romantic radio hits.
The production sought to blend accessible romantic lyricism with the polished studio arrangements characteristic of the label's output during that decade. Designed to appeal to listeners of romantic pop and sentimental ballads, the track reflects the influence of international pop trends adapted for the Brazilian market, serving as a functional piece of mass-market entertainment that defined the sonic backdrop of contemporary radio play.
