S'Dornrösli / De Schneemaa

Released in 1976 under the Europa label as part of their extensive series of children's audio dramas, S'Dornrösli / De Schneemaa represents a distinct facet of Swiss-German cultural media. The production was overseen by Heikedine Körting, a central figure in the German-language audio drama industry whose work for Europa defined the childhood listening experiences for generations in the DACH region. The record features the voice and performance of Eva Maria Felix, who contributed significantly to the storytelling style that characterized these regional language adaptations.

The design and production were driven by the label's objective to provide accessible, high-quality audio adaptations of folklore and traditional stories specifically tailored for local dialects. By adapting classic narratives into Swiss-German variants, the label sought to strengthen regional cultural ties through the emerging medium of the audio play. Upon release, the series was well-received by parents and educators for its clear production values and its role in preserving linguistic nuances within a popular, low-cost format that made such stories widely available in household record collections.
