Secretos Del Arpa Paraguaya Con El Arpa De Enrique Samaniego - Evocando Exitos De Felix Perez Cardozo

Released on the Discos Elio label in Paraguay, this recording captures the artistry of Enrique Samaniego, a notable performer within the tradition of the Paraguayan harp. The album was produced as a tribute to the legacy of Félix Pérez Cardozo, a foundational figure in Paraguayan folk music who is credited with elevating the harp to its status as the national instrument of Paraguay. By focusing on his repertoire, the release sought to preserve the melodic intricacies and rhythmic patterns essential to the genre's mid-twentieth-century golden age.

The album serves as a definitive example of the regional mid-century folk recordings that prioritized the virtuosity of the performer over elaborate studio production. The design is characteristic of local independent label aesthetics from that era, featuring modest photography and typography meant to convey authenticity and cultural pride. It was primarily distributed within the Southern Cone to collectors and enthusiasts of Latin American folk music, serving as a vital touchstone for those interested in the technical mastery of the arpa paraguaya.
