Symphonien Nr.5 - Nr.11 - Nr.17 "Neue Lambacher Symphonie"

Released under the Concert Hall label in the 1960s, this collection forms part of a series dedicated to the early symphonic works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Concert Hall was a prominent mail-order record club during this era, focused on providing high-fidelity classical recordings to a growing audience of home enthusiasts. These performances feature the Camerata Academica Salzburg, an ensemble with deep historical ties to the city of Mozart's birth and a long-standing reputation for authentic interpretation of his compositions.

The recording is conducted by René Klopfenstein, who led the orchestra through these early symphonies, including the 'Neue Lambacher' (Symphony No. 17). The design reflects the mid-century aesthetic typical of the label, characterized by clean, formal typography and clear labeling intended to appeal to the educated listener. While this specific catalog number, SMS 2915, represents a standard pressing for the label, it remains a notable example of the mid-20th-century effort to make the comprehensive Mozart repertoire accessible to a wider, non-concert-going public.
