Where it came from
This 12-inch vinyl, cataloged as BL001, emerged in 2004 as a white-label pressing designed primarily for club play. It captures a specific moment during the early 2000s when UK Garage and 2-step remixes of popular American R&B tracks became a staple of the London nightlife scene. These unofficial pressings were frequently produced to provide DJs with high-tempo, dance-floor-ready adaptations of mainstream hits that were otherwise unavailable on commercial formats.
The record features remixes of Usher’s U Don't Have To Call and 112's Na Na Na, re-imagined with the syncopated rhythms and heavy basslines characteristic of the garage aesthetic of the era. As a white-label release, it lacks formal liner notes or attribution to specific producers, which was common practice for such promotional or underground discs intended to circulate within specialized DJ circles rather than retail environments.
