Un Virtuose Du Violon / A Virtuoso Of The Violin

Released in 1984 under the Romanian state-owned label Electrecord, this recording showcases the virtuosic violin artistry of Valeriu Cintilică. Produced during a period when Electrecord served as the primary vehicle for preserving and disseminating Eastern European classical and folk music, the record reflects the label’s commitment to documenting regional musical traditions and the sophisticated technical proficiency of its featured soloists.

The album serves as a definitive document of Cintilică’s aesthetic approach, which emphasizes technical precision and a deep, emotive connection to the violin repertoire. The sleeve design follows the minimalist, functional aesthetic common to mid-1980s Eastern Bloc pressings, prioritizing clarity and institutional branding. While the record was primarily distributed within the Soviet sphere of influence, it remains a respected piece among international collectors of mid-century virtuoso violin recordings.
