XXX-X Part 2

XXX-X Part 2 was released in 2003 by the label XXX, serving as the second installment in a series defined by the collaborative efforts of Le Lutin and 3K. Emerging from the European electronic and experimental music scenes of the early 2000s, this record reflects a period where underground dance music was increasingly incorporating glitch aesthetics and minimalist production techniques. It was designed to occupy a space between atmospheric soundscapes and club-oriented rhythm, catering to a niche audience of collectors who frequented independent record shops specializing in import vinyl.

The visual design and sonic curation of this series were intended to emphasize anonymity and collective creation, common themes among underground labels of that era. By prioritizing cryptic titling and minimalist artwork, the artists sought to let the technical precision of their production stand alone. The record was received by the electronic music community as a functional yet innovative piece of late-period vinyl culture, praised by contemporary DJs for its versatility and the stark, clean aesthetic of its manufacturing.
