Contract with the Abyss

Contract with the Abyss was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the early 2000s, serving as a vital support card for players utilizing Ritual Monsters. It was designed to provide a flexible way to summon high-level creatures from the hand, provided the player met the tribute requirements for the Dark attribute, a key mechanic in the early competitive landscape.

The version from OTS Tournament Pack 12, released in the late 2010s, represents the long-standing tradition of Official Tournament Store promotional packs. These packs were designed to reward players for participating in local competitive events, often reprinting older cards to keep them accessible to the community. As a common rarity print, this specific iteration was intended to ensure that players had functional access to the card for gameplay rather than serving as a high-value collector's prize.
