Cyber Dragon

Cyber Dragon was first released in the 2005 expansion set Cybernetic Revolution. It emerged during a pivotal era for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, introducing a mechanic that allowed players to special summon it directly from the hand if the opponent controlled a monster and the player did not. This design choice fundamentally shifted the game's tempo, moving it toward a more aggressive, fast-paced playstyle that defined competitive dueling for several years.

The card's iconic mechanical aesthetic was designed to represent a sleek, metallic serpentine dragon, reflecting the futuristic themes of the Cybernetic Revolution set. Upon its release, it was widely praised by the community for its versatility and high attack power, quickly becoming a staple in almost every competitive deck. Its enduring popularity solidified its status as one of the most recognizable and influential monsters in the history of the game.
