Cyber Dragon

Cyber Dragon was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2005 as a marquee card in the Cybernetic Revolution set. It was designed to represent the technological dominance of the character Zane Truesdale, the top student at Duel Academy in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series. The card quickly reshaped the game's competitive landscape due to its unique ability to be special summoned directly from the hand if the opponent controlled a monster, effectively ending the era of slow, trap-heavy gameplay.

The card's design, illustrated by the Konami internal art team, emphasizes a sleek, mechanical aesthetic that contrasts with the traditional organic dragon designs typical of the game at the time. The Duelist Pack: Zane Truesdale release, featuring the card with the DP04-EN001 identifier, was issued to provide players with easier access to this essential staple. Upon its release, the card was widely praised by the community for its strategic depth, remaining a defining icon of the GX-era meta for many years.
