Where it came from
Dimensional Fissure was originally released in the 2006 Cybernetic Revolution expansion, designed to introduce a potent anti-graveyard mechanic to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. By banishing any monster sent to the graveyard, it effectively countered decks reliant on resource recursion and graveyard-based effects, establishing itself as a foundational disruptive tool for control-oriented strategies.
The version from Champion Pack: Game Eight, released in 2009, serves as a distinct reprint for tournament players. Champion Packs were distributed primarily through official hobby stores to reward participants in sanctioned events. The Super Rare treatment for this specific printing features a textured holofoil finish, a design choice intended to elevate the card's visual profile while maintaining its utility in competitive play.
