Provenance

Where it came from

Dimensional Fissure was first released in the 2006 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Structure Deck: The Dark Emperor, a set built around the 'D.D.' or Different Dimension archetype. The card was designed as a powerful control tool meant to shift the game's flow by banishing monsters that would otherwise be sent to the graveyard, a design choice intended to disrupt strategies reliant on graveyard recycling and revival effects.

The card features artwork consistent with the tactical, dark aesthetic of the Dark Emperor deck. Upon its release, it became a staple in competitive play for its ability to hard-counter decks focused on synergy with the graveyard. Its status as a common rarity card in the Structure Deck ensured wide accessibility for players looking to bolster their side decks or primary strategies.
