Where it came from
Dimensional Fissure was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2006 as part of the Cybernetic Revolution expansion. It was designed as a continuous spell card intended to disrupt graveyard-reliant strategies by banishing any monster sent to the graveyard instead of allowing it to reach its intended destination. The card quickly became a staple in competitive play, serving as a powerful counter-measure against decks that utilized graveyard resurrection or resource recycling as their primary win condition.
The specific version in the Ra Yellow Mega Pack, designated as RYMP-EN081, was released in 2012 as a secret-rare variant. This reprint updated the card's visual aesthetic with the distinct, highly reflective foil pattern characteristic of the set's secret-rare cards. While the mechanics remained identical to the original printing, this iteration is highly sought after by collectors who favor the high-rarity finish and the iconic artwork, which depicts a swirling, dark portal characteristic of the card's banishing effect.
