Where it came from
The Hobby League was an organized play initiative launched by Konami to foster local communities for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. These participation cards were distributed to players who attended sanctioned tournaments at participating hobby stores during the early to mid-2000s, serving as an incentive to encourage consistent attendance and community engagement.
The card Fissure, featured here as an Ultra Rare variant in the second Hobby League cycle, uses the iconic artwork established during the game's initial release. The design aesthetic reflects the dark, high-fantasy tone of Kazuki Takahashi's original manga, utilizing a distinctive holographic foiling process applied specifically to these promotional sets to distinguish them from standard booster pack pulls.
