Fushi No Tori

Fushi No Tori was released in the Legacy of Darkness booster set, which debuted in the North American Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game market in 2003. As an early addition to the TCG library, the card emerged during a period of rapid expansion for the game, as Konami sought to introduce a wider variety of effect monsters to differentiate the TCG from the Japanese OCG release. The card's name, translating to 'Phoenix' or 'Immortal Bird' in Japanese, draws heavily from East Asian mythological archetypes, a common design motif in the early sets of the franchise.
