Harpie Lady Sisters

Harpie Lady Sisters first appeared in the Metal Raiders expansion set, released in North America in 2002 as one of the earliest core booster packs for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The card was designed to support the Harpie archetype, which was famously used by the character Mai Valentine in the original anime series. By requiring the tribute of three Harpie Lady cards to summon, it reflected the high-stakes, combo-heavy playstyle typical of the game's nascent competitive scene.

The artwork for the card follows the distinct aesthetic established by Kazuki Takahashi, emphasizing a trio of winged warriors that blend mythological motifs with the edgy, bold character design prevalent in early 2000s Japanese manga. As a super-rare pull from the second major English-language set, it quickly became a coveted trophy for collectors who wanted to replicate the strategies seen on television, cementing its status as an iconic piece of the game's early history.
