Heavy Storm

Heavy Storm was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Metal Raiders expansion, released in early 2002. As a powerful Normal Spell card, it was designed to clear the entire field of all Spell and Trap cards, a mechanic that provided players with a potent tool for removing back-row disruption. The card became a staple of competitive play for over a decade, valued for its ability to enable aggressive turns by neutralizing the opponent's defensive setup.

The version from the Structure Deck: Warrior's Triumph, released in 2005, features the classic artwork of a swirling, dark vortex that has defined the card since its inception. This iteration was aimed at players looking to bolster their decks with essential utility cards, as the Structure Deck format was intended to provide a cohesive, playable foundation. Because of its immense impact on the game's balance, Heavy Storm was eventually restricted and later banned from tournament play for many years, cementing its status as an iconic piece of the game's history.
