Pot of Greed

Pot of Greed first debuted in the earliest days of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, serving as one of the most iconic and powerful utility cards in the original core sets. Its design, featuring a distinct, grinning ceramic jar, has become a hallmark of the game's aesthetic, representing a simple but potent mechanic that allows a player to draw two cards from their deck. The card became a staple in virtually every deck build for years, eventually leading to its permanent status on the forbidden list in competitive play due to its immense card advantage.

The version included in Battle Pack: Epic Dawn (BP01-EN034) was released as part of a specialized drafting set intended to revitalize the play experience by including powerful, classic cards alongside newer tactical options. As a rare inclusion in this set, it serves as a nostalgic touchstone for veteran collectors. The illustration is widely recognized for its whimsical yet slightly unsettling expression, which was designed to visually capture the essence of greed within the game's fantasy universe.
