Provenance

Where it came from

Prepare to Strike Back was introduced as part of the Cybernetic Revolution set, released by Konami in the mid-2000s during a period of significant growth for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. As a common trap card, it was designed to integrate into the evolving meta of the era, offering players a defensive utility that punished aggressive, face-up attack position monsters during the battle phase.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic direction of the Cybernetic Revolution expansion, which focused heavily on Machine-type monsters and advanced tactical play. Like many cards in this set, its design aimed to balance battlefield disruption with strategic timing, serving as a functional tool for collectors and players focused on the game's mechanics rather than aesthetic rarity.
