Preparation of Rites

Preparation of Rites was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a core support spell for Ritual Summoning archetypes. It serves a specific mechanical purpose by allowing players to search their deck for a Level 7 or lower Ritual Monster and a Ritual Spell card, providing essential consistency for decks centered around these complex summoning mechanics. The card was first released in the Hidden Arsenal series before being reprinted in Wild Survivors as part of a strategic effort to support new and legacy Ritual-based strategies.

The design of the card emphasizes the ritualistic nature of its theme, utilizing imagery that reflects the preparation required before a summoning sequence. As part of the Wild Survivors set, the Rare print maintains the accessibility needed for players looking to refine their deck lists. While it is a functional tool rather than a centerpiece, it is highly regarded within the community for its efficiency, as it essentially replaces itself while setting up the player's board state.
