Sonic Bird

Sonic Bird was originally released in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, serving as a tactical staple for players who focused on Ritual Summoning. Its primary utility lies in its triggered effect, which allows the player to add a Ritual Spell card from their deck to their hand when the monster is summoned. This capability made it a foundational card for decks built around powerful Ritual monsters, providing necessary consistency during an era when searching for specific spell cards was a rare and valuable mechanic.

The card was included in the Speed Duel GX: Duel Academy Box, a product designed to bring the streamlined Speed Duel format to the GX era of the franchise. The artwork captures a stylized, avian creature with a mechanical, aerodynamic aesthetic consistent with the card's theme of speed and searching. By reissuing this classic in the Speed Duel set, Konami allowed newer players to experience the strategic utility of older, legacy cards adapted for a faster, more accessible gameplay environment.
