Sonic Bird

Sonic Bird was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Magic Ruler expansion, which was released in North America in 2002. As one of the early sets in the game's English-language history, Magic Ruler significantly expanded the utility of ritual monsters by providing essential support cards like this one. The card's effect, which allows a player to add a Ritual Spell card from their deck to their hand upon being summoned, addressed a critical bottleneck in deck consistency for ritual-focused strategies at the time.

The card features an illustration consistent with the aesthetic of early Konami monster designs, emphasizing a blend of avian and mechanical elements common to the era's Wind-attribute creatures. While it began as a humble common-rarity card, Sonic Bird became a staple in competitive play for years, serving as a fundamental searcher that defined the viability of many ritual decks. Its enduring design remains a touchstone for players nostalgic for the game's initial growth period.
