Where it came from
Cocktail Prince: Making Love!! emerged as part of the Cocktail Prince (Kakupuri) multimedia project, an initiative launched by Geeks in 2017. The project anthropomorphized various cocktails into male characters, intending to capitalize on the popularity of male-idol simulation games. The franchise aimed to blend mixology trivia with the character-driven narrative typical of the Japanese otome game genre, targeting fans who appreciate character design and voice-acting performances.
The character designs were handled by a diverse team of illustrators tasked with translating the color palettes, histories, and flavor profiles of iconic drinks into human aesthetics. These designs were characterized by vibrant, polished digital art intended to appeal to the mobile gaming demographic. While the project garnered a dedicated niche following through its web manga, music tracks, and game integration, it remained a distinct entry in the crowded market of personality-based character franchises.
