Fushigi na Chikara

Fushigi na Chikara, which translates to Mysterious Power, is an educational musical series produced by NHK for the Japanese school broadcast curriculum. It was created to help primary school children explore scientific concepts and moral dilemmas through engaging narratives and original songs. The series has become a staple of Japanese media history, often remembered by generations of viewers for its distinct visual style and its role as a recurring feature in classroom learning environments.

The design of the series reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of NHK's mid-period children's programming, prioritizing clear, accessible visuals that could communicate complex themes to young students. Its production involved a collaborative effort between educators and creative directors, resulting in a balance of factual content and artistic expression. While it remains a niche cultural artifact outside of Japan, it is highly regarded within its domestic context as a successful example of pedagogical television.
