GREEN DA KA RA × Mirai no Mirai

Green Da Ka Ra × Mirai no Mirai is a series of collaborative promotional shorts released in 2018 to coincide with the theatrical debut of Mamoru Hosoda's film, Mirai. Produced by Studio Chizu, these spots were commissioned by Suntory to integrate the film’s characters with their popular health-conscious beverage brand, Green Da Ka Ra. The project aimed to tap into the film’s themes of family, growth, and natural comfort to appeal to the demographic of health-conscious parents and younger audiences who gravitate toward Hosoda's aesthetic.

The animation was crafted by Studio Chizu, maintaining the signature fluid, painterly style that director Mamoru Hosoda is known for. By placing the protagonist, Kun, and his sister into the bright, airy world of the brand’s commercials, the studio sought to bridge the gap between commercial advertising and high-quality cinematic art. Upon its release, the collaboration was well-received by fans for its seamless integration, serving as a charming extension of the film’s gentle atmosphere rather than a standard corporate endorsement.
