Makabe Aizawa, is a beautiful woman who is perfect, good in any field and very striking from childhood. However, behind her very sweet nature outside, she behaves cruelly and like the queen with her younger brother named Haruto. Every day she treats him like a butler. Where it came from
Green Eyes was released in 2017 as a limited-run independent animation project by the creative studio BOOTLEG. Emerging from the burgeoning scene of lo-fi and experimental digital media, the work was designed to push against the conventions of mainstream commercial animation. Its aesthetic is characterized by a stark, atmospheric visual language that prioritizes mood and sensory experience over traditional narrative structure, reflecting a deliberate effort to evoke nostalgia for early 2000s underground visual culture.
The creative direction behind Green Eyes focused on minimalist, high-contrast imagery, utilizing a distinct color palette that relies heavily on its titular emerald hues. By stripping away complex character designs in favor of silhouette-heavy compositions and surreal transitions, the studio aimed to create a hypnotic viewing experience. Upon its release, it was noted within niche animation circles for its technical economy and avant-garde sensibilities, serving as a signature example of the studio's interest in the boundary between fine art and fan-adjacent creative work.
