Kanenone Academy was an all-boys high school isolated from the world by mountains and hills. Yusuke Takasaki, the average 11th grader, led a normal life in the academy until the academy announced attempting for co-ed, and high-school girls were being transferred for the summer semester.

Where it came from
Green Green was produced by Studio Matrix and aired in 2003 as a thirteen-episode anime television series. The show belongs to the harem comedy genre, a staple of early 2000s Japanese animation, and is adapted from a visual novel developed by Hi-Spec. The narrative centers on a protagonist who transfers to a secluded, all-male boarding school that suddenly transitions to co-education, setting the stage for the comedic and romantic entanglements typical of the period's output.
The character designs were handled by Kazuya Kuroda, who aimed to align the visual style with the aesthetic conventions of contemporary adult visual novels. Upon its release, the series was received primarily by a niche audience interested in the fan-service-heavy style common to the era. It remains a representative example of the commercial anime landscape of the early 2000s, reflecting the specific tropes and artistic trends that defined studio projects of that timeframe.
