Green Green THIRTEEN: Erolutions

Green Green Thirteen: Erolutions was released in 2004 as an original video animation (OVA) follow-up to the popular Green Green visual novel and subsequent anime series. Produced by Studio Matrix, the project was designed to capitalize on the franchise's established fan base, which had grown significantly since the debut of the original game in 2001. The OVA format allowed the creative team to explore more mature themes and provide an alternative conclusion to the characters' arcs, operating within the comedic and ecchi-focused tone that defined the series.

The visual direction and character designs were intended to remain faithful to the aesthetic established by the original game's artists. While the franchise was generally received as a lighthearted niche entry in the anime canon, this particular installment focused on refining the animation quality to differentiate the standalone OVA from the earlier television broadcast. It remains a representative example of the mid-2000s trend of releasing direct-to-video side stories to expand upon existing intellectual properties.
