Where it came from
Released in 2013, Himitsukessha Taka no Tsume × Glass no Kamen Desu ga is a collaborative ONA that brings together the satirical secret society of DLE’s Eagle Talon franchise with the iconic, melodramatic aesthetic of Glass Mask. Produced to commemorate the legacy of the shōjo classic Glass Mask, this short-form series utilizes the signature low-budget, Flash-animated style of the Eagle Talon team to parody the intense emotional stakes and heightened theatricality of the original manga series.
The creative direction behind this project was spearheaded by DLE’s primary team, known for their improvisational humor and meta-commentary on the anime industry. By blending the frantic, bureaucratic antics of Eagle Talon with the operatic tropes of Glass Mask, the production aimed to offer a affectionate, self-aware critique of dramatic anime tropes. Upon its release, it was received as a humorous curiosity that highlighted the versatility of the Eagle Talon format in deconstructing established pop culture pillars.
