Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Hunter x Hunter (2011) was produced by the animation studio Madhouse as a second television adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi's long-running manga series. Directed by Hiroshi Kojina, this iteration was commissioned to provide a more faithful and comprehensive retelling of the source material, beginning from the start of the narrative. The project sought to capture the complex, shifting tone of Togashi’s writing, which seamlessly transitions from lighthearted adventure to dark, psychological conflict as the characters mature.

The series is widely acclaimed for its technical precision, notably its clean aesthetic and inventive fight choreography, which were designed to emphasize character strategy and internal monologues rather than simple displays of power. Upon its release, the adaptation was praised by critics and audiences for its high production values and its ability to elevate the shonen genre, ultimately becoming a hallmark of modern anime production and cementing the series' reputation as one of the most influential works of the 21st century.
