If I Could Draw Life

If I Could Draw Life, known in Japan as Moshimo Egaketara, is a short story written by Yoasobi member Ayase. The narrative served as the primary inspiration for the band's 2021 song of the same name, which was developed in collaboration with the Monogatary platform. The project was conceived as part of a creative initiative to bridge literature and music, where stories submitted by users were adapted into musical compositions.

The story explores themes of artistic ambition and the emotional complexities of self-expression. It gained significant cultural traction due to the popularity of Yoasobi’s accompanying track, which became a staple of the Japanese pop music landscape. The work is widely regarded as a successful example of transmedia storytelling, blending contemporary digital literature with pop production to resonate with a younger, internet-savvy audience.
